Amanda is famous for her Spook-Eats website and blog - she has a passion for traveling, food, and - you guessed it - the paranormal! While she visits some of the coolest bars and restaurants around the country, this foody is always looking to investigate spooky spots that are strange and unusual. Some of those legendary places include Gettysburg, the infamous Stanley Hotel in Colorado and the creepy home of Robert the Doll in Key West. Unexplained Cases | Baltimore Street Murder House

Almost anywhere you go in Gettysburg you will come across a place that is supposedly haunted. It is very easy to understand why. Tens of thousands of men lost their lives here in this small Pennsylvania town in July of 1863. We visited one unassuming and haunted location that was here during the Battle of Gettysburg and was a casualty collection point just like many buildings were used for back then. It would make sense that the spirit who sets off ghost hunting gadgets in this Baltimore Street home fought and died in the Civil War. But, this resident spirit has no connection to the Battle of Gettysburg. Unexplained: Haunts II Uncovered | Selma: Southern Ghost Town

Written by: Jeff Rent Case Filed: 10/29/02 - Cahawba, Alabama Executive Producer: Rick Garner Cahawba was once Alabama's state capital (1820-1826) and a thriving antebellum river town. It became a ghost town shortly after the Civil War. Today it is an important archaeological site and a place of picturesque ruins. As early as 4,000 years ago Indians occupied Cahawba, and the Spanish explorer DeSoto may have visited a large Indian village located there in 1540. In 1819 the state of Alabama was carved out of the wilderness. Cahawba, its capital city, was an undeveloped town site, a gift from President James Monroe to the new state. Consequently, Alabama's legislature was forced to find temporary accommodations in Huntsville until a statehouse could be built. By 1820, however, Cahawba was a fully functioning state capital.
